A dia de hoy salió (a la venta) Growl 1.3, dejando su anterior modelo de freeware y dándole soporte para Mac os X Lion. Su gran problema es que su tema predefinido (Smoke) ha sufrido variaciones en el suavizado del texto, dándole mas peso a la tipografía, y sinceramente para mi me llegaba a ser hasta molesto. Así que manos a la obra, basandome en Mono y con un poco de CSS, he dejado un tema similar al Smoke original.
Nota: Aún no conseguí que el borde aparezca de una forma estable cuando pasas el cursor por encima.Actualización: El efecto “hover” funciona dentro te las posibilidades que permite utilizando javascript.
Para que podais apreciar la mejora os dejo una comparación entre Smoke y mi tema, Smoked Cheese.

Today, Growl 1.3 was released, being fully compatible with lion and being a paid app on the app store. But it was a big letdown for me to see that Smoke (the default theme) looked worse than it used to be. The main problem, is that somehow Smoke is using another kind of text antialiasing, making the type a heavier than it used to look.
So since i couldn’t stand seeing that all day i took Mono as my base style and made it look like the original Smoke.
Note: I still haven’t been able to make the hover effect work (it breaks). I’ll update it when i try a workaround i have in mind.Update: It now supports hover effects…as much as it’s possible (the mouseover/mouseout implementation of growl seems a bit buggy)

UPDATE: Now when you hover it adds the white border normal smoke has. (It keeps it tho).
